McCorison Homes was hired to turn an old cinderblock garage into a dream cottage – “The Ultimate Bachelor Pad.”

The original house was a cinder block box with a simple roof and slab floor.  The interior was in very poor shape.  The space was relatively small – 900 sq. feet.

The client worked with architect Mitch Hodge to design an interior  in the style of a Montana cabin.

We pulled up linoleum tiles off the slab and trenched  the concrete slab for plumbing.img_6571

Staining the concrete slab.. Local artisans Nashville Concrete Artists allowed the old remaining glue to become a part of the look.  The result intersected with the new concrete  creating a mondrian style pianting effect.

The final room is dominated by a real, wood burning  stack stone fireplace.  Custom kitchen cabinets  by Chris Barber of Barber Woodworking were topped with custom built 100 year old heart-pine counter tops and accented with a French farmhouse style sink.
